ASTM A500 Grade B is a cold-formed carbon steel grade. The ASTM A500 Grade B Pipe is designed with a chemical composition consisting of carbon, manganese, phosphorous, sulfur, and copper. The high-strength ASTM A500 Pipe can be designed in seamless or welded configuration. The seamless pipes have higher strength and load-bearing capacity, but the welded pipes are cheaper. The ASTM A500 Grade B Tube is designed with outstanding mechanical properties. These tubes possess a minimum tensile strength of 425mpa with a minimum yield strength of 290mpa. They can be easily elongated by 23% in the system. The ASTM A500 Tube can be welded in place using standard welding procedures. However, the pipes should be preheated before they are welded at high temperatures to avoid cracking.

The ASTM A500 Steel Tube is very ductile and can be easily shaped in an array of shapes of different dimensions to meet project requirements. ASTM A500 Square Tube is designed with a square cross-sectional area with all sides having equal lengths. These tubes are a common fixture in structural applications. The A500 Rectangular Steel Tube is a light weight grade that is used in applications where there is a requirement of strength. It has good bending and torsional strength making it a good choice in designing mechanical parts. A500 Round Tube is the common shape of tubes in this grade. Having a circular cross-sectional area they are generally preferred in transporting fluids and gases in the system. The A500 Round Pipe has a density of 7.80 g/cc and is widely used in oil refineries, petrochemicals, boiler equipment, general purpose engineering, power generation, sugar industry, etc. The price of the ASTM A500 Steel Pipe in India is cheaper than those produced in Europe or the USA due to the abundant availability of raw material and quality cheap labour.
