ASTM A335 P2 is a seamless ferritic alloy steel grade. The ASTM A335 P2 Pipe is designed with a superior chemical composition of carbon, manganese, phosphorous, sulfur, silicon, chromium, and molybdenum. The outstanding content embedded in these pipes gives them enhanced corrosion and oxidation resistance properties. A P2 Pipe has similar strength as the 304 and 316 stainless steel grades. These pipes come in wall thicknesses between 3mm to 12mm. The ASTM A335 P2 Boiler Pipe can transport and process volatile fluids and gases. These pipes don’t easily disorientate under any stress and are very reliable. The SA335 P2 material is designed with a minimum tensile strength of 415mpa with a minimum yield strength of 205mpa. The material can be readily by a minimum of 30% in the system. A335 Gr P2 Chrome Moly Pipe works well in high-temperature setups and is commonly seen in different applications.
The P2 Seamless Pipe is one of the strongest pipe types in this grade. These pipes are produced as hot steel billets are passed through extruded metal, allowing the pipes to carry higher loads in different setups. The pipes grade can be produced in the hot or cold rolling process. ASTM A335 Gr P2 Hot rolled pipes is produced as the metal is heated at temperatures up to 1700 degrees F till it reaches its recrystallization value.
