The 321h grade is a higher carbon austenitic steel grade that is stabilized with titanium. The 321H stainless steel pipe is designed with a superior composition of chromium-nickel and other constituting alloys. This gives the pipes of this grade enhanced resistance to corrosive and reducing media. Stainless Steel 321H Pipe is designed to withstand temperatures ranging up to 1500 degrees F. These pipes are resistant against creep-rupture and intergranular corrosion across different stress-induced setups. The non-magnetic Stainless Steel 321H Tube has superior strength over pipes in this grade. These pipes are stabilized against precipitation by carbides and are slightly difficult to weld in place as they are equilibrated by titanium. Designed with a density of 7.920 g/cm3, the 1.4878 Tubing has a minimum yield strength of 205mpa with an ultimate tensile strength of 515mpa. These tubes have a hardness of 217 max Brinell and can be elongated by a minimum of 40% in the system. SA 312 TP 321H Square Pipe is one of the common shapes in the grade and is generally used for structural and maintenance applications.
The 321H pipe grade is designed in seamless, welded, and erw configurations. Stainless Steel 321H Seamless Pipe is produced by passing hot steel billets through extruded metal to shape them in the correct dimensions. These pipes are high strength and are a little more expensive than other grades of pipes. The 321H SS Welded Pipe is manufactured as sheets, strips are rolled and welded in place using standard procedures. These pipes are a cost-effective alternative and are seen in moderate to low pressure and temperature systems. UNS S32109 ERW Pipes are rolled and welded in place by passing high voltage current.
